Patient Care Technologies (PtCT), a private, employee-owned company, founded in 1991 to develop innovative technology for the home care industry. From the beginning, focus has been on providing software systems that support clinical, financial and administrative functions for home care providers, hospices and private duty agencies. PtCT’s hand held clinical system, Home Care Manager™ was introduced in 1993. Through an affiliation with hospital enterprise software vendor Meditech, PtCT provides enterprise integration for agencies owned by or affiliated with Meditech-based healthcare systems.

PtCT serves home care providers of all sizes. Slightly less than half of the company’s customers are medium-sized ($3M to $9M annual gross revenue) more than a third are large (over $9M). Most are not-for-profit, Medicare/Medicaid certified agencies. Two-thirds are hospital-owned. Slightly more than half (56%) are single-site agencies. 58% offer home nursing and therapies; the rest include other business lines such as HME or IV Therapy or both. The company reports that no one customer accounts for more than 5% of installations and annual revenue.
